The Mavericks have always lived up to their name - from their earliest days in Miami when they played souped-up country in punk rock clubs, to their current live show which includes a four-piece horn section dressed in Ricky Ricardo ruffled shirts. The band began in Miami in late 1989 and soon became the toast of the club set, sometimes playing all night long and into the morning hours, with their mix of Hank Williams, Sr., Elvis, Roy Orbison and original songs written by lead singer Raul Malo. They released their first album in 1991 on Miami's Y&T Music label and moved to Nashville shortly thereafter upon signing with MCA Records. Get their historic Y&T Music release on cassette and a limited-edition, hand-numbered, autographed CD collector's box. | |
